Question 1 - The audience want to see strong characterisation with a variation of everyday locations and modern humour.
Question 2 - My demographic expect to see 'natural' settings such as a house, a school, a park etc, no location should be outside of the normal.
Question 3 - I need to create a connection between the protagonist and the audience whether this be a personal trait, a personal experience or even just simple characteristics in which my demographic can relate to.
Question 4 - The majority of my trailer should be natural lighting and mainly high-key, although lowkey lighting will be suitable for when the 'drama' element is being portrayed.
Question 5 - I need to create a section of sadness for my protagonist in order to create the 'drama' genre, this could be done by a sudden realisation, something going wrong or even a simple argument.
Question 6 - I should make sure I have plenty of close-up shots, as reaction shots are very important to my demographic for this genre. However two-shots to show relationships and long shots to show body language are also important.
Question 7 - My protagonist should be loveable and relatable and just an all round ordinary person - not rich, not poor, not popular just in the middle. The character should also have good humour and be quite upbeat.
Question 8 - I should start my trailer with a funny build up with a quick description of what the films about. In the middle of my trailer everything should change - something goes wrong, something unexpected happens. At the end of my trailer everything should be restored and the ending should be humorous.
Question 9 - I should use upbeat music in my trailer. A good genre to use would be indie-pop as it is positive and light-hearted which relates to the theme of comedy.
Question 10 - The majority of my demographic said that I should have a voice-over as it would help them to engage more with the protagonist and understand the trailer more.

Juno Poster Analysis
Teaser Poster:
Genre:
The top of the poster immediately describes the film as a 'comedy' with the drama element immediately being portrayed by the pregnant girl. The fact that theres two characters of opposite sex in the foreground of the poster looking over at each other also suggests that there has been some kind of romance between them.
Text:
There is a tagline at the top of the poster which cleverly ties in with the girl at the front being pregnant. A quoted review is also shown in the genre of the poster with 5 stars next to it, which will draw in the demography and convince them to watch the film.
Layout:
The two main characters are stood away from each other and also have their backs to each other which suggests that they may have had a falling out, but it is clear they are still in one another minds as they are both looking back at each other. Due to the poster being landscape it works well having the title across the majority of the top half of the poster.
Colours:
The main colours used are blue, orange and green. These are the colours that make up the background and the title but also relate to the characters mise-en-scene. These colours also stand out to the target audience as they are bright and work well together.
Main Theatrical Poster
Genre
The fact that the girl on the poster is pregnant immediately portrays the drama aspect of the 'comedy-drama genre.' The comedy element is shown through the male character and his mise-en-scene and body language.
Text
The poster contains all the needed information to allow the target audience to gather all the information they need - and persuade them to see the film when it is released. A positive review is quoted in bold which makes the film immediately seem good and more appealing as the consumer can see someone else positive opinion of it. The tagline on this is the same as the tagline of the teaser poster to shows continuity between the two.
Layout
Infront of the stripes are two characters, who are likely to be the main characters in the film as they are the main focal points of the poster. The title is places next to them in a much larger font and in a contrasting colour to really make it stand out.
Colours
The main colour-scheme of this poster is orange and white. The striped background is very effective and eye-catching to the demographic. (teenagers) The colours chosen are very quirky and add to the comedic element of the film.
School of Rock Poster Analysis
The genre of
this film is a cross genre between music and
comedy. In the poster the prop of a guitar is held by the
protagonist (Jack Black) This clearly establishes the music
genre of the film as he is clearly in the centre playing the guitar. The music genre is rock which is an incredibly popular
genre. By associating the rock genre with a
school provides a comic twist as fans of rock are
stereotypically adult males with long hair. Therefore, to see a classroom
full of primary school students who look as if they're in a band is funny as
it's something the consumer wouldn't expect. The title
graphics have been written in a way that is similar to the Rolling Stone
magazine and the poster itself is laid out in a way that is
mimicking how the Rolling Stone magazine is laid out. It is very clear
that Jack Black is starring in the film. This is shown through the large
picture of him in the poster and how in the words 'Mr. Black'
can be seen below the main title. His name is placed here as it is near one of
the main focal points of the poster. The key image
on the poster is Jack Black himself. He has been chosen to dominate the poster as he is the protagonist of the film and also a marquee name. I
believe the target audience for this film
is teenagers and young adults.
The main clues about the narrative can be
seen from both the title and the images. The
name 'School of Rock'' heavily implies that the film will involve a school
thatteaches rock in some way. As the consumer looks below this to see Jack Black dressed formally as if he was a
teacher they can easily make the link that he will be the teacher. In contrast
to the typical teacher image Jack lack
is seen holding a guitar and pulling a 'typical rock' face as if he's really feeling the music. His body language also tells the consumer that he is confident and comfortable with playing music.
The fact that the students are shown behind Jack lack
makes them seem a lot smaller which gives the audience the impression that they are
less important in the film than Jack Black - but are still key characters.
Other Characters:
The mise-en-scene of the stock characters (the school children) clearly tells the audience
a lot about their personalities. They are all wearing customised school
uniforms which after being customised seem to show off more of a personality
from each character. This immediately makes them seem more interesting (as if
they were all in normal school uniform they would not be portraying the typical
rock image) and not just 'typical' school children.
Colours:
The colour white
takes up all of the background.r. Although, brown, grey, red, green and a
little bit of yellow is seen. These could be referred to as stereotypically
colours that boys prefer which in turn makes them seem more suited to the rock
genre.
