Juno Poster Analysis

Teaser Poster:

Genre:
The top of the poster immediately describes the film as a 'comedy' with the drama element immediately being portrayed by the pregnant girl. The fact that theres two characters of opposite sex in the foreground of the poster looking over at each other also suggests that there has been some kind of romance between them.

Text:
There is a tagline at the top of the poster which cleverly ties in with the girl at the front being pregnant. A quoted review is also shown in the genre of the poster with 5 stars next to it, which will draw in the demography and convince them to watch the film.

Layout:
The two main characters are stood away from each other and also have their backs to each other which suggests that they may have had a falling out, but it is clear they are still in one another minds as they are both looking back at each other. Due to the poster being landscape  it works well having the title across the majority of the top half of the poster.

Colours:
The main colours used are blue, orange and green. These are the colours that make up the background and the title but also relate to the characters mise-en-scene. These colours also stand out to the target audience as they are bright and work well together.

Main Theatrical Poster

Genre
The fact that the girl on the poster is pregnant immediately portrays the drama aspect of the 'comedy-drama genre.' The comedy element is shown through the male character and his mise-en-scene and body language.

Text
The poster contains all the needed information to allow the target audience to gather all the information they need - and persuade them to see the film when it is released. A positive review is quoted in bold which makes the film immediately seem good and more appealing as the consumer can see someone else positive opinion of it. The tagline on this is the same as the tagline of the teaser poster to shows continuity between the two.

Layout
Infront of the stripes are two characters, who are likely to be the main characters in the film as they are the main focal points of the poster. The title is places next to them in a much larger font and in a contrasting colour to really make it stand out.

Colours
The main colour-scheme of this poster is orange and white. The striped background is very effective  and eye-catching to the demographic. (teenagers) The colours chosen are very quirky and add to the comedic element of the film.
