Making the Baby Bump

Materials:

  • 2-4 rolls of kitchen roll.
  • A large mixing bowl.
  • A bottle of PVA glue.
  • 2 pieces of long ribbon.

Instructions

1. Put some glue in a bowl and mix with water. with a 2:1 water/glue ratio.
2. Rip off a whole roll of kitchen roll and tear into their individual squares.
3. Fold each square in  half, and then half again.
4. Individually dip each one into the water-glue mix and apply to the bottom of the mixing bowl (which should be the top as the bowl is upturned.)
5. Layer these on top of each other in a pyramidal formation to gradually turn the flat bowl surface into a more rounded shape.
6. As the maché mixture is very wet it will be mold-able, so mold the pyramid into a more rounded shape.
7. Allow at least 48 hours for this to dry.
8. Attach a ribbon to either side of the bump and sticking on with duct tape.
9. When ready to wear, hold the bump to the stomach area and tie around the waist with the ribbons.

*TIP* When wearing this bump, for a more realistic effect, wear baggier pieces of clothing so the clothing doesn't stick to the exact shape of this bump.
